“Silva Horvat is a designer who creates original tapestries and woven handicrafts. ”
In 1986 she completed her studies in textile technology, majoring in textile design, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology in Ljubljana. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. In 1988, she was awarded a Grohar Scholarship for her artwork. She is a member of the Association of Designers of Slovenia and the Association of Artists of Škofja Loka. For her handicraft work, she obtained the Art & Craft Slovenia Handicraft certificate, and in the last year she has been an active producer of Kreativnice, a creative center for textiles. Unique hand-woven products are created on the looms – among other things, scarves, tablecloths, placemats, carpets, curtains, metrics, blankets, original tapestries. Woven articles of pure wool or of wool combined with other materials.
The website was created as part of the "In Love with Creativity" project. The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.
