As part of the accompanying program of the exhibition, which takes place until 20 September 2020 at the Museum of Architecture and Design, MADE IN: Narratives of Crafts and Design, the Project Office of the Maribor Creative Center presents Kreativnice – a modern textile center from Škofja Loka.
The exhibition was on view between 4 June 2020 and 2 July 2020.
Kreativnice is a creative and working space, which also has an exhibition and sales character. The contemporary textile center Kreativnice draws attention to the rich heritage of the textile industry in the Škofja Loka region and connects various artists, especially women, who use a contemporary approach to upgrade the rich textile heritage of the area.
Anja Musek, Ladka Peneš, Lili Panjtar, Nina Vastl Štefe and Silva Horvat express themselves through various techniques, and they all have in common the handmade production of unique products with high usable and aesthetic value. They present a range of home products, fashion accessories and clothing that revive or continue the tradition of handmade local products from natural materials, which are also sustainable.
