Opening of exhibition: Sewn-in history, conservation and revival of historical clothing heritage
We invite you to the opening of Sewn-in history, conservation and revival of historical clothing heritage exhibition by Andreja Stržinar. The exhibition will be opened on the 10th of May 2022 at 6 PM in Arts and Crafts Center DUO Škofja Loka (Mestni trg 34).
Andreja Stržinar dedicates her creative work to clothing heritage. She creates historical costumes and reconstructions of different historical periods present in Slovenia in her sewing and tailoring workshop. Research and study of rare archives and sources is the starting point of her work and the basis for clothing reconstructions. Andreja strives to achieve a historically correct and believable image of a specific historical period. Her clothing tells stories, which are sewn into them.
After finishing Middle school for textiles she gained more than ten years of experience in the theater atelier of SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana. Experience gained took her onto a solo path, where she constantly collaborates and cooperates with other experts in the field. Her clothes are worn by many folk groups, in theaters, projects, and events. The exhibition introduces a part of her work, which includes historical clothing reconstruction and Slovenian clothing heritage.
The exhibition will be open until the 11th of June 2022.
Welcome!
