Outdoor exhibition – Square below the Castle: Forest and square in front of Kašča: River
In the months of covid lockdown the participants of Contemprorary textile hub Kreativnice started a joint project and design of a big textile instalation Forest. Its inspiration comes from the nature, it emphasizes the importance of community and support. The piece suggests to look, observe, feel and act. Just as forest connects individual trees, Forest connects the five individual creators and their creative worlds. Mocais interlocking of different natural materials, textile tecniques of weaving, felting, stitching, printing, plant dying, spinning and crocheting connects different creators. Next to it another instalation River was created which emphasizes the history of Škofja Loka and the importance of the river Sora for development of the town. Its source was 40 years old wollen fabric. It connected the work of textile designers with importance on clean design and simplistic lines. It emphasizes the importance of connections. Rivers connect places, towns, countries. Bridges connect two sides of a river. At the same time joint work and creations of ideas connect, opens and develops modern communities.
In the time of the Festival you can see Forest on the square below Castle and the River on the square in front of Kašča.
