Beyond the boundaries of felting: a conversation with Anja Musek
We invite you to a conversation with Anja Musek, who has been professionally engaged in wet felting for 12 years. With her work, she pushes the boundaries of wet felting and is constantly searching for new forms of expression – from useful products to works of art.
How did it all begin and why did she choose the wet felting technique? How has her work developed over the years of intensive work and various collaborations? All this and much more.
She is a landscape architect by education, but for the last twelve years she has devoted herself exclusively to felting. She creates unique clothing, fashion accessories, and home products using the ancient technique of wet felting. She is known for her contemporary, minimalist designs and use of natural materials, including wool, flax, nettle, hemp, silk, and more. She creates her products from basic fibers rather than fabric. She uses a seamless technique, which means that all the fibers are intertwined into a single piece without creating any waste material, in line with the zero-waste ideology. She creates in her studio Amuse, located in the old town center of Škofja Loka by the Sora River. She also holds monthly workshops and courses on wet felting there. She is part of the Kreativnice collective and an active member of the Škofja Loka Handicraft Center.
You are all welcome!
